Terms of service

Last updated 26 September 2026

These are the terms on which Tenon Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 44 698 736 873), trading as Joinr, provides Joinr to you. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Tenon Holdings Pty Ltd, "Joinr" means the software and service at app.joinr.com.au, and "you" means the person accepting these terms and, where that person acts for a business, the business too.

You accept these terms by creating a Joinr account, or by creating or joining an organisation in Joinr. If you do that for a business, you confirm that you are entitled to bind it. If you do not accept these terms, do not use Joinr.

These terms and our privacy policy (www.joinr.com.au/privacy) are the whole agreement between us. We have written both to be read rather than skimmed; if any part is unclear, email support@joinr.com.au and we will explain it.

1. What Joinr is, and what it is not

Joinr is quoting software for joinery businesses. You build a rate card (your items, labour, machine and travel rates, overheads and markups), you build quotes from it room by room, and Joinr does the arithmetic, produces a customer document on your letterhead, sends it by email when you ask, and keeps the history.

Joinr calculates; it does not advise. The rates, quantities, markups and terms in a quote are yours, the figure Joinr arrives at is the result of your inputs, and the quote you send is your document to your customer. Check a quote before it goes out. We are not responsible for a price that is wrong because a rate, a quantity or a setting was.

Every new organisation starts with a generic rate card of placeholder figures so that the screens are not empty. They are not anybody's real rates and they are not a recommendation. Correct them before your first quote goes out.

2. Your account and your team

You must be at least 18 and using Joinr for a business. Give us accurate details and keep them current.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what is done in Joinr through your sign-in, and a business is responsible for what its team does in its organisation. Tell us straight away if you think a sign-in has been compromised.

An organisation in Joinr is one business. Its owner can change the settings, the rate card and the team; an estimator can build and send quotes. Everyone in an organisation can see all of its quotes: that is how a joinery office works, and it is not something we can switch off. One person can belong to more than one organisation.

3. The free trial

Every new organisation gets fourteen days free, with the whole product and no card. When the trial ends the organisation becomes read-only: nothing is deleted, every quote can still be opened, printed and exported (sending needs an active trial or subscription), but nothing new can be saved until a subscription starts. Subscribe at any time and it is writable again.

We may refuse or end a trial that is being used to avoid paying, such as a business starting a new trial each fortnight.

4. The subscription and the price

One plan. Joinr has one plan: A$69 a month, or A$690 a year (A$57.50 a month), both including GST. It includes unlimited users and unlimited quotes for the one business the organisation belongs to. There is nothing to upgrade to and nothing held back.

One business per organisation. "Unlimited users" means everyone who works in your business. It is not a way to run several businesses from one subscription: a group that runs more than one joinery business needs an organisation for each, or should talk to us about an arrangement.

Billing. You pay through Stripe, our payment provider, by card, and Stripe's own terms apply to that payment. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Every payment comes with a tax invoice showing the GST.

A payment that fails. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over the following days and emails you. While that happens you keep full access. If it still cannot be collected, the subscription is cancelled and the organisation becomes read-only, exactly as at the end of a trial: nothing is deleted, and subscribing again makes it writable.

Discounts. A discount we have agreed with you in writing applies on the terms of that written agreement, including for as long as it says, and it survives a change to the standard price.

Price changes. We can change the price. If we do, we email every organisation owner at least 30 days before the new price takes effect, and it takes effect at your next renewal after that date. If you have paid for a year, the new price does not apply until that year ends. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, from the billing page in Settings or by emailing support@joinr.com.au. Billing stops at the end of the period you have already paid for, you keep full use of Joinr until then, and after that your organisation becomes read-only with everything still in it.

We do not refund the unused part of a period you have paid for, except where these terms say otherwise (sections 9 and 14) or where the Australian Consumer Law requires it.

6. Your data

It is yours. Your rate card, your quotes, your customers' details, your uploads and your history are yours. You give us the right to store, process, back up and transmit them, and to show them to your team, for the one purpose of providing Joinr to you, on the terms of our privacy policy. We do not sell them, share them with advertisers, or use them to train artificial-intelligence models, and we do not read your quotes except to support you or fix a fault, and every such look is logged.

You can take it with you. At any time an owner can download the organisation's whole data set from Settings › Backup & import, in a file Joinr can import again, and any single quote as a file. We will never charge for this or make it hard.

Your customers' details. You enter your customers' names and contact details to quote for them. That is your information about your customers, held by us for you: you are responsible for having the right to enter it and for your own obligations to your customers under privacy law, and we handle it as our privacy policy says.

Uploads. You must have the right to use anything you upload, such as a logo, a letterhead image or a terms document. Logos and letterheads are PNG or JPEG up to 2 MB; terms documents are PDF up to 4 MB.

When it ends. After a subscription ends, your data stays read-only and exportable for as long as your organisation exists. If you ask us to close the organisation, we delete its data within 30 days, as the privacy policy says. Export first, because a deletion cannot be undone.

7. Emails sent through Joinr

When you send a quote from Joinr, we send an email on your instruction, from "your business via Joinr" at our sending address, with replies going to you. You are the sender of that email: you decide who receives it and what the covering message says, and you must send quotes only to people who have asked you to quote or would expect to hear from you about a job. Do not use Joinr to send marketing, bulk mail or anything the recipient has not asked for.

Sending is limited to 30 quote emails an hour per organisation, and we may pause sending from an organisation whose emails are bouncing or being reported as spam, because that harms delivery for every business using Joinr. We tell you when we do, and why.

We record what our email provider reports back about each email (delivered, bounced, opened) and show it to you. A report that an email was delivered is our provider's report, not a guarantee that it was read.

8. Using Joinr fairly

Use Joinr lawfully and for its purpose. In particular, do not: share your sign-in or let anyone outside your business use your organisation; try to reach another business's data, probe or test our security, or interfere with the service; copy, scrape or resell Joinr or its rate-card structure; upload anything unlawful or malicious; or work around the limits we set, such as the email cap, the 4 MB upload cap and the sign-in limits, all of which the app states where they apply.

If you break these terms we may suspend your organisation or end this agreement (section 12). We will tell you what we found and, unless the breach is serious or repeated, give you a chance to fix it first.

9. Availability, support and backups

Availability. We run Joinr on infrastructure in Sydney and watch it around the clock, but we do not promise that it will be available at any particular time or without interruption. We may take it down for maintenance, and we give notice where we can. The consumer guarantees in section 11 are not affected by this.

Support. We answer email from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, Sydney time, at support@joinr.com.au. We do not promise a response time. Faults are watched at every hour, and if Joinr goes down we know.

Backups and restores. We keep a daily backup for seven days and a weekly encrypted archive for about four months, as the privacy policy describes. If we ever have to restore from a backup, up to a day's work could be lost, and a restored organisation comes back with its quotes and rate card but without its history and team list, which a restore cannot rebuild. Download your own export whenever a quote matters to you.

Changes to Joinr. We improve Joinr continually and may add, change or retire features. If we ever withdraw Joinr altogether, we give every organisation owner at least 180 days' notice, keep the export working until the end, and refund the unused part of anything you have paid for.

10. What Joinr's people can see

The people who run Joinr can look at your organisation's data to support you, to fix a fault, or when the law requires it, through a console that records every look in a permanent log. We do not look for any other reason. Our privacy policy has the detail, including who our providers are and where your data is stored.

11. Our responsibility to you

Consumer guarantees. If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law (a business can be, for a service like this), you have guarantees that Joinr will be supplied with due care and skill and be fit for its purpose, and nothing in these terms excludes or limits them.

Where we may limit it. Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to meet a guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying Joinr again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. Otherwise, our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms or your use of Joinr, whether in contract, negligence or otherwise, is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event.

What we are not liable for. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for: a price or a quote that is wrong because of a rate, a quantity, a setting or an input of yours; loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill; indirect or consequential loss; an outage or fault of a provider we rely on for hosting, email or payments that is outside our control; or loss you could have avoided by keeping your own export.

What no clause limits. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything the law does not allow to be limited.

12. Ending the agreement

By you. Cancel at any time (section 5). To close your organisation and have its data deleted, email us; we confirm the deletion when it is done.

By us, with notice. We may end this agreement, or suspend an organisation, if: a subscription is not paid (section 4); you break these terms and do not fix it after we tell you, or the breach is serious; or we are required to by law, or reasonably believe that continuing would harm someone or another business using Joinr. We tell you why. A suspended organisation keeps its data, read-only, and can still export it.

What survives. Your right to your data and to export it, our promises about it in the privacy policy, section 11, and anything that by its nature should continue, survive the end of this agreement.

13. Intellectual property

Joinr, its software, design and documentation, and the generic rate card every organisation starts with, are ours or our licensors'. While you have an account you have a non-exclusive right to use Joinr for your business under these terms, and no other right. Your data stays yours (section 6). If you send us a suggestion, we may use it without owing you anything and without any obligation to.

14. Changes to these terms

We will change these terms when Joinr or the law changes. Every version carries its date, and the current one is always at www.joinr.com.au/terms. For a change that matters to you, such as a new charge, a new restriction or a smaller promise from us, we email every organisation owner at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, cancel before that date and we refund the unused part of anything you have paid for. Using Joinr after that date is accepting the change.

15. General

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and the courts there deal with any dispute, though we would much rather you emailed us first.

We may transfer this agreement to someone who buys the Joinr business, and will tell you before it happens. You may transfer yours with our agreement, which we will not withhold unreasonably, for example when your business changes hands.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Notices from us go to the email address of your organisation's owner; notices to us go to support@joinr.com.au or the address below. Neither of us is responsible for a failure caused by something outside our reasonable control.
